Stuttgart Center

The busy district of Stuttgart-Mitte forms the historical center of the city and extends around the imposing Schlossplatz, where outdoor events take place. The building dominating the square is the New Palace from the 18th century. The old castle houses the Württemberg State Museum with historical exhibitions. Modern art is presented in the State Gallery and in the Glass Art Museum, which has a large collection of works by the artist Otto Dix. There are popular brand stores and international restaurants along the car-free Königstraße.
